Review of Starred Up (2014) by Arslan K — 06 Apr 2015
This is a very powerful film with very strong emotions and story. Right off the back I saw Jack O Connell do what he does best which is to own his role. The way it's directed is so good. This isn't just some prison movie it's more then that, it a relationship movies between a dad and a son.
In the beginning I didn't care for the dad, but towards the end I had little tears. Because you feel for both of them and how they are surviving, the actor who played the dad did an outstanding job! The end was an emotional ride.
I truly didn't find any flaws. If this was a Hollywood movie I could totally see this wining globes and oscars for acting and best picture. Overall from it's acting to its story this is a magnificent film and would recommend it to all.
I kinda felt like this had more f bombs then wolf of wallstreet.
