Review of Starman (1984) by Lee O — 05 Aug 2010
John Carpenter is one of the four big American horror granddaddy directors and he has always been at the top and flourished more became he went outside of horror and mixed genres.
His Starman is one of the least personal and distinctive movie of his. I havent seen this since I was 5 or 6 and Bridge's transformation in the beginning actually gave me a nightmare back in the day. While not having a lot of thrills, sci-fi, or drama the story is pretty simple and fetaures a good performance by Jeff Bridges. Not a bad movie considering it is the least Carpenter of his directing career.
