I just love the optimism of this 80s film (and perhaps of the decade as a whole)! Instead of the menace and slaughter of The Independence Day, The War of the Worlds or Battle Los Angeles, this is a story of love, curiosity and interstellar understanding.
A feel-good film in an extraordinary way.
