Review of Stark Fear (1962) by Bruce B — 29 Oct 2009

The only real good thing about this movie was that it was less then 90 Minutes Long. Part of a Grindhouse Double Shock Show from Alpha Video. Beverly garland plays the abused wife who has nothing but fear for her husband, who from the start of the movie slaps her around and beats her.

She has to give up her job because of her jealous husband. Her husband has many of his own secrets, lovers, the town he's really from, and his friends. After he has one of his friends rape his wife while he watches, she?s had enough and goes back to work and falls in love with her boss, who is her husbands rival.

In the end, rapist is killed, Husband disappears, and Boss and his now to be future wife fly off to Mexico. Filmed in 1962, most of the theme of this movie wouldn't be on the big screen today. I'm being nice by giving this one 2 stars.
