Review of Stargate: The Ark of Truth (2008) by Lindsay C — 27 Mar 2008
So first, if you didn't watch the last 2 seasons of SG-1 (what's wrong with you? this show is awesome! ~__^) you won't really know what's going on in this movie. That aside, it's Stargate! So, what can I say, 5 stars just for that.
I figure if we keep showing our love they'll keep giving us more SG-1. Though filmed on a larger scale than regular episodes, it is still basically equivalent in feel to a two part episode. And in that light, I admit it would not be my favourite episode.
But it is still fab and my jaw dropped a couple times, and I love what they did with Adria all in flames - too cool. Part of the reason it feels like an episode, however, is that during the run of the series they always had amazingly excellent quality and effects.
There really wasn't much they could improve on except for bigger sets and more exotic locations. So I can't fault them for being unable to improve on perfection ^__^. As to the story itself, I think they did the best they could to wrap it up in a single movie.
Really, the Ori storyline would have been much better served by an 11th season, but that's not their fault. I'm just so happy they gave us something, and at least one more to follow.
