Review of Stargate: Continuum (2008) by Nick T — 03 Aug 2008
Dial the gate, did the seventh chevron lock? Quite frankly it did. What an amazing story, that is amazingly directed and acted. The return of a menacing nemesis is brilliant, and Cliff Simon wonderfully portrays Stargate's favourite bad guy.
A special appearence by O'neil and Apophis share several moments of shear joy. The Battle Sequences alluring and fantastic, as well as the character interaction within the orginal and changed timelines.
Vala particulary is fantastic as her Go'uld alter ego Qetesh (she kicks ass as a Go'uld System Lord); a welcome return to some of past enemies such as Nirti and Yu. But the bulk of the film rests upon the trio of Carter, Jackson and Mitchel with excellent performances by Claudia Black, and Chris Judge.
To conclude this new stargate feature delivers on many levels, and feels like stargate used to be, a very interesting watch, and a fantastic story.
