Review of Stargate: Continuum (2008) by John K — 12 Aug 2008
If you enjoy the Stargate TV show you'll probably like this straight-to-DVD movie. It plays like an extended length episode, so keep your expectations in check. But that said it's one heck of an episode. After all the religiously-charged schmaltz of the Ori storyline and Ark of Truth, I found Continuum a lot of fun. It goes back to the Goa'uld system lord material and whips up a super-fun time-travel twist on the history of SG-1 as you know it. It's an alternate-reality romp where everything you know about SG-1 is turned on its head. I found the pacing good and the writing satisfying. Right up until the end you're still guessing as to how the team will save the day this time. Good stuff. Nice to see General Hammond one more time, especially since Don Davis has now passed :*(.
Good Stargate fun!
