Review of Stargate: Continuum (2008) by Rob T — 17 Aug 2008
This lateset direct to dvd offering is more of a standalone affair than Ark of Truth but still requires a certain level of knowledge of the TV series to fully understand what is going on and an in depth knowledge to get all the subtelties - so sadly this is still a movie just for the fans and would be a terrible place to start for any newcomers to the franchise.
This time round the adventure is a lot more fun than the previous offering and contains a larger helping of humour (mainly courtesy of Richard Dean Anderson's appearance). It is also very much a return to the old days of the show and it is nice seeing the Gua'ould as a threat once more.
Some of the effects are a bit ropey belying the productions budget but are never bad enough to kill the immersion.
If you like classic Stargate SG1 (seasons 4 & 4 spring to mind) then you should enjoy this.
Claudia Black wears a very low cut dress throughout most of the film too... but other than that there's no real boobage... but that's to be expected here.
