Review of Stargate (1994) by D M — 02 Oct 2009
A professor who has been branded a kook by his contemporaries is asked to help the military in deciphering ancient Egyptian glyphs. In doing so they are able to open a "stargate," a pathway to another place.
The professor accompanies a team of commandos to explore the planet which resembles ancient Egypt. They befriend the local slaves, but soon anger the "god" who used the stargate centuries before to travel to our world and gave us culture and technology.
Great story and good acting and battle scenes. This is a solid sci-fi.
