A terrific sci-fi journey. Director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin's best film that they made together. Intelligent and exciting in an almost poetic way, the film's strongest balancing act comes from the performances of Kurt Russell and James Spader as the hard-as-nails captain and the dweeby archeologist respectively.
