Review of Stardust Memories (1980) by Leigh C — 15 Aug 2008
By far the most philosophical of his films so far in its exploration of themes like mortality and art. Raises some really interesting questions about art's mortality & legacy, and who art belongs to once it's out there for mass consumption. Shot in black & white which gives it a timeless quality. Really really good stuff.
The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because Woody Allen once again romanticizes infidelity...and he's way too creepy to be sleeping with these gorgeous women.
