Review of Stardust Memories (1980) by Matthew W — 12 Jan 2009
Decent drama/comedy is enjoyable as a semi-autobiography of a filmmaker who is sick of doing slapstick and is forced to deal with overbearing movie executives. But like every Allen film, his character also faces problems with relationships and in that regard nothing here is fresh.
The constant barrages from hardcore fans is a one-note joke that is overdone to death here, but a couple of them manage to keep things interesting.
