Review of Stardust Memories (1980) by James J — 10 Nov 2010
Woody Allen's take on 8 1/2 is sublime. It's full of hilarious little pitfalls of being a celebrity, the personal sacrifices artists make, are forced to make, or feel obligated to make, and relationship trouble.
In the end, it builds to a great meta-finale that is at once sentimental and quietly, darkly, beautiful.
