Review of Stardust Memories (1980) by Israel N — 12 Apr 2009
A very interesting flick. Sandy Bates it´s an alter-ego for Woody Allen and thru this character he exposes his feelings towards film industry and success as any celebrity would wish to do it but no one could come close to make it that funny and arty at the same time.
The film was shot in black and white like Manhattan the year before (1979). Nice art direction and editing. Stardust Memories its one of Woody's own work favorites, the other two are The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985) and Match Point (2005).
Magnificent.
