Review of Stardust (2010) by William M — 29 Dec 2011
This is a rather funny movie at times mixed in with the fantasy world, as in England, there is a wall that divides two realms: a fantasy realm called Stormhold (or Stronghold) and the regular world of England. The wall shields Stormhold/Stronghold from the outside world though. And the wall is guarded 24/7 by someone on the England side of the wall, from the nearby town of Wall, as it is called.
As the movie is called Stardust, it is partly about a fallen star, who is played by Claire Danes. She falls in Stormhold/Stronghold and because of that, she's a being with human form. As is later found out by Tristan, if she crosses the wall into England, she will turn to dust, thus Stardust.
The movie is a bit of an adventure too as there are a group of brothers looking for a necklace to claim leadership to rule Stormhold/Stronghold, of which the fallen star Yvaine has, as it made her fall from the sky. And there are others trying to find Yvaine, to kill her and take her power for their own good. And Tristan just wants her to bring back as a gift to his Victoria, so he can have her hand in marriage.
I won't give it all away but if you get to see it, I hope you can enjoy it like my family and I did.
