Review of Stardust (2007) by Schnitzelpoof — 18 Aug 2013
This film is a fairy-tale ripe with witches, princes, magic, and romance, which manages to capture a sense of wonder that is missing in so many other fantasy movies. The characters, though not particularly deep, all possess consistent motives, which contribute naturally to the development of the intricate plot.
The overall tone, despite plenty of violent and cruel events, is lighthearted, and entertaining throughout the film, mostly thanks to superb acting by veterans like Michelle Pfeiffer.
Only the lead male character is lacking in presence, but that didn't detract much from my overall experience.
