Review of Starbuck (2011) by Tor M — 21 Jan 2015
Always a bit risky going for rather unknown foreign comedies. I had never heard of any of the actors or the director either. This one is a Canadian one, in french language, and it deals with a slacker that are having quite a messy life. And oh, he finds out that he is the biological father of 530 people or so. Quite an interesting plot and it's pretty well delt with.
It's not superfunny, but it's charming, warm and got a great feel-good vibe. Well acted, well told, but it lacks a bit managing to deal with the main-plot and the subplots at the same time. Well worth a watch - a comedy that stand out from the masses.
6 out of 10 meat trucks.
