Review of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) by Ed K — 26 Dec 2017
Lack of character depth and fragmented story left this movie short on its ability to make any meaningful connection. It was actually funny where it shouldn't have been, i.e. Princess Leia doing a superwoman flight while in the vacuum of space and never having done anything with the force abilities in the past.
Now yes she could have done something between ROTJ and this movie but that was never fleshed out just like Snoke's character. There are just too many issues with this movie to list here and I was initially excited about the "Jedi must end" trailer.
Thought it was taking us on a different tact. As such, it didn't, didn't even hint at anything coming, and really just setup the same conflict to end between good and bad.
