"Disney copied-and-pasted the plot of A New Hope and assigned each characters lines and actions to "new" acceptable 2015 faces. This movie's lack of originality is appalling and the exact opposite of what this franchise as a whole stands for.
2/5" That is what I wrote upon the first viewing, but seeing this again, I am reminded how great a movie it actually is. Yes, in terms of originality, it is not new. Mr. Abrams did copy a vast amount from A New Hope, but this movie succeeds impressively, through narrative and visual.
