Review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) by Bob J — 17 Dec 2017
A very fast paced and action-packed start to a new Stars Wars trilogy that will be adding new life to a saga already rich in great storytelling (though at times the execution has been off). The old trilogy characters returning adds to the nostalgia of Star Wars while the new characters introduce a new era of Stars Wars for a new generation.
I was pleased to see that the overall theme had not changed with this new installment and loved the way it payed homage to the originals. Overall a great Star Wars film with only one clear issue: Starkiller base.
While I loved the name of it; for intents and purposes it was just another Death Star for the resistance to destroy. In this regard I would have liked to see something more original but that's really my only complaint that isn't nitpicky.
Thank you JJ Abrams for a really good and fun Star Wars film.
