Review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) by Brian B — 04 May 2018
It would have been an okay movie if they had left Han, Luke & Leia out of it. As it is, TFA is just a summer action movie. This is not for the fans of the original Star Wars. Yes there were some nice visuals for fan pandering but the plot was just too much of a copy of A New Hope.
There was no growth to be seen in the old cast. Just one moment between an aged Solo & a broken down C3-PO would have been enough. Like a 50 year old computer that is beyond any software updates & hardware upgraded Han could have show a little compassion for 3PO (showing his maturing with the passage of time) to ask 3PO what the odd are of successfully navigating a jump into hyperspace out of a cargo hold (knowing that it would give 3PO a thrill to act mortified at the idea).
It would have been an easy scene & made the fans happy.
