When it came out I was in shock. I had to do a lot of mental gymnastics in order to be okay with this film. Now that Last Jedi is out I really can't overlook the glaring flaws in this one. Disney has no consistency, and no loyalty to the Star Wars name.
Thirty years of canon was burned to a crisp, like how the Nazis burned books they disliked. This movie was a money train for Disney, but a train wreck for Star Wars.
