I generally like the Star Wars universe. This movie was somewhat of a let down. First of all, the story is very shallow and very predictable. It's a pretext to the action scenes. Although I did like some of the humor in the movie, there was no real psychology to the characters.

There is a sens of a rushing the story, like...let's get to the next action scene very fast, and let be done with it. The overall graphical style wasn't very good. It's precise and well executed but lifeless.

All the models feels stiff and square. There is no real elegance about it in the animation process. In my view the models would have been 100% better, would they be made in Cell Shading with real motion capture.

As an example, the tv series Skyland is far superior to that movie, in terms of animation and artistic touch. However the action scenes are very spectacular. Does it justify a movie by itself ? No. The sound is great and the music is supportive.

Overall I feel ok with this average movie, but it's not great enough to attract me to watch the TV series, especially if it follows the same shallow path. I would have not seen that movie and it wouldn't have made a difference.

A problem that is, I believe.
