Review of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) by Edwardw — 13 Aug 2008
I don't get the hate. I had a better time at this movie than plodding through the nihilism of Dark Knight. Take it on its own terms -- it's showcasing something that was basically made for the "small" (50" is small?!) screen, and it makes me all the more excited for the TV series.
It's wall-to-wall action, it's totally bizarre and cool animation, it's silly, it's funny and if it's "Star Wars" light, well, after watching Anakin whine his way through the last couple of films, that may be exactly what "Star Wars" needs.
Loved every moment of it (except for about five weird minutes in which Obi-Wan "surrenders," which are absolutely bizarre).
