Review of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) by Nickb — 14 Aug 2008
A solid, fun animated film that's going to get heaps of criticism and praise, all overblow due to being part of the Star Wars franchise. I read the total trash review at aintitcool before seeing the movie, so I went to it's midnigth show expecting garbage and was alarmed to discover that the real villain in Star Wars: The Clone Wars is the fanbois gone rabid.
People who enjoyed the movies as kids and who have kids of their own will get the most out of this movie. Married men whose wives hate Star Wars like my own will enjoy it, too. But if you think you know how to make a better film than Lucas, and you're still all bent out of shape about Jar Jar, just sit this one out.
It's meant to be relaxing fun, and you might be wound a litle too tight for this flick.
