Review of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) by Matt S — 29 Feb 2016
By far, the best film of the prequels. That's not necessarily a good thing, but what can ya do? Everything about Revenge of the Sith is an insane improvement from The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
The acting is better, even Christensen...well, sort of. Not really. But mostly he just broods & pouts here. Which is fine. He did ok with that. Anyways, The plot was finally interesting (first time this has happened in the prequels, for me).
The darker tone is great. Palpatine is creepy, in a great way. McGregor truly becomes Obi-Wan Kenobi. Cutting down on the cheesy love scenes from Clones was a good decision, although Anakin & Padme's romance felt slightly more believable here.
It's just ...really fun to see how Darth Vader became...Darth Vader. Ahhh, it's so awesome. I watched this series in order by release date, so I got the highs of the series early (A New Hope & then the amazing Empire Strikes Back) and the lows of the first 2 prequels, I am so beyond ready for The Force Awakens.
