Review of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) by Jonathan L — 09 Aug 2017
As Darth Vader himself said in the very first film (now considered Episode IV), "The circle is now complete." George Lucas finally returns to his top form, with the most ambitious and diligent film in the trilogy, in terms of both narrative and direction.
The visuals look better than they ever have, the choreography for the fighting is highly impressive, and the tone is the darkest it has ever been. And nothing is more exciting than seeing our favorite little green badass stand up against the despicable Emperor.
McGreggor also proves that he took a huge part in carrying this trilogy, and displays more emotion in Obi-Wan than we have ever seen. The story of Anakin's fall and Vader's rise is most certainly worthy, by having a true sense of tragedy and Shakespearean irony that the franchise has never emulated before.
A fine end to this trilogy, and also a great lead-in to the original one.
