Review of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) by Mark B — 02 May 2015
Nearly perfect. The transformation of Anakin could have been handled with more subtlety. In fact, I think the lead up to it was done quite well, and everything afterwards with Anakin/Vader for the most part as well, but the actual transformation scene felt too unnatural and forced. Other than that, I think the movie is flawless. The opening and closing battles are some of the most iconic scenes in film. The visuals are significantly better than any of the other films, and John Williams delivers what I consider to be the best Star Wars score and possibly even his best soundtrack to date. With a couple changes I think this movie could have easily been the best Star Wars movie of them all, and in fact I did have it rated higher than the others for a while, but on my recent rewatch, I ended up rating Return of the Jedi slightly higher.
94%.
