Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is a major improvement over the first two films in the prequel trilogy and adds a certain layer of depth and tragedy. While not a great film, Revenge of the Sith is entertaining as hell and delivers some very beautiful imagery and breathes life into this universe.

Ewan McGregor is terrific as Obi Wan Kenobi, once again proving he is one of the best actors in this trilogy, if not the best. Hayden Christensen gives another cringeworthy performance as Anakin Skywalker and it really disappoints me, however its much better than his role in Attack of the Clones.

Ian Mcdiarmid gives a subtle yet brilliant perfect in this film as Emperor Palpatine, who in many ways stole the show with his scenes. Natalie Portman is really bogged down in her performance by poor writing, but the same could be said about most of the cast.

George Lucas truly just made a lot of this up as he went along I feel at times without much thought. The dialogue, along with the other prequel's before it, is just awful. It feels lifeless at times and boring.

You don't feel the heart or love for several of the characters the way you should. However I did start to feel a bond and chemistry between the actors that wasn't in the previous films. You finally feel like they work better together and sometimes it helps overcome the poor writing.

Not all scenes have poor writing, but the romantic subplot and several other lines just feel ridiculous at times and unbelievable. The CGI is the best of the trilogy and has very much improved, but its hard to argue there is just too much of it.

Every living thing in this movie feels and looks like nothing that was in the original trilogy and feels more like a video game, I mean even the clones are computer genrated. The droids can be cool at times, but overall feel like lifeless beings that exist only for jedi to cut stuff in half.

I loved the dark and dreary tone of the film as it feels like truly the end of days. John Williams score in once again unforgettable as he gives some of his best work yet. As I watched I felt like this was something much better than we had seen in previous prequels, as it felt like the story we finally wanted to see.

While Anakins reasons for joining the dark side are controversial, it truly gave us some great and emotional scenes as we witness Anakins fall and the purge of the jedi.
