Review of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) by Dustin D — 01 May 2016

Tonally jarring, annoying slapstick humor, Jar Jar, Muppet Baby Darth Vader, ruining the Force with midichlorians, flat characters, little narrative drive, cartoony CGI. The pod race sequence is the only scene that could possibly hold a candle to the original trilogy, but even that scene is cartoonish, a little confusing and punctuated by lazy humor.
