Meh. There's so much CGI in the prequels (much to it's detriment) that a 3D conversion could work. In fact, there's so much CGI that they could make it look like a completely different movie if they wanted.
Edit: The current Disney mess has really put this movie in a new light, bumped up to 4 stars.
