Review of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) by Aadityamudhar — 06 Apr 2016
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, though having impressive art design, a fantastic score by John Williams, and an entertaining sequence or two, is a subpar first instalment in the prequel trilogy that is tainted by poor CG (despite some practical effects), a tonally confused and incoherent script, bad dialogue and performances, poor pacing, and lazy, half-hearted direction.
This film might please some members of the audience, but die-hard fans will be left devastated at the missed opportunity that was this film.
