Movies were never the same after this. Star Wars is one of cinema's most fun and exciting movies ever. This movie has amazing characters, great visuals, phenomenal music, and a great script. This movie is extremely close to perfect in almost every way.
Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, and everyone else play their parts amazingly. Dave Prowse and James Earl Jone's amazing portrayal of Darth Vader makes him one of the best villains in cinema history.
It sets up everything for the trilogy very well, and has so many amazing scenes. From the opening scene, to the Binary Sunset, to the Mos Eisley Cantina, to the rescuing of Princess Leia, to the garbage masher, to Vader's fight with Kenobi, to the assault on the Death Star.
It's hard to choose the best scene in the movie, which is a good indicator for a great movie. Overall, Star Wars is one of cinema's greatest achievements, which no one ever thought could be topped.
But then came Part 2. 9.75/10.
