Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by David B — 25 May 2009
Great final outing for the original crew of the Enterprise. The Klingon Empire is in trouble, and forced to seek peace with the Federation. Kirk and co are assigned the duty of escorting the Klingon ambassador, who is promptly assassinated en route.
The Enterprise is blamed, so Kirk and Bones are tried and sentenced to imprisonment on a Klingon prison planet. They must escape and uncover the real conspirators. The supporting cast all have more to do in this instalment, and the basic thriller/mystery aspects to the plot means that it is far less ponderous than some of the other films in the series.
Even Scotty gets to shoot someone!
