Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by Larry W — 15 Jan 2010
My Favourite TOS movie. It is the refinement of everything learned in the making of the previous TOS movies. This film knows the characters intimately and makes the best use of them. It's really written for the fans.
Now, the movie itself is quite well done. The cinematography and overall look of the film is beautiful. It perfectly represents the feel of the story and enhances it. And on a side note, I think it may well be the inspiration for the look of the JJ Abrams 2009 film.
The script is well done and is comfortable as an old glove while still being interesting and unpredictable.
The cast also wears their characters like a second skin. Perfectly bringing the old familiar characters to life.
