Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by John L — 11 Aug 2011
Next to the classic "Wrath of Khan" this one of the best Trek movies and a fitting farewell cruise for the original cast. Due to stand down, the original crew are sent to escort a Klingon Chancellor to earth for peace talks.
When things go wrong and the Enterprise is blamed, the classic crew must battle a deep rooted conspiracy that not only threatens to end potential peace but to cause all out war. Christopher Plummer makes a devious Klingon villain and Kim Cattrall joins Trek lore as Spock's Vulcan protegee.
A bit of Trek trivia: Star and producer Leonard Nimoy became furious with Kim Cattrall during the shooting of Trek 6 when the future "Sex and the City" girl was caught posing for pictures on the Enterprise bridge set wearing only her Vulcan ears.
All the photos were destroyed.
