Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by Andrew K — 11 Nov 2012
Were it not for the fact that 'II' somehow manages to be slightly better, this is the ultimate Star Trek movie and a perfect, celebratory send-off for the original crew. Because it's their last outing it had to sum-up everything about Trek without being a tick-list of best-of moments.
And it is. It has everything: drama, humour, excitement, melancholy, mystery, danger, pace, fantastic visuals, a variety of locations, characters true to their TV series originals and excellent acting.
A return from James Horner on music duties would have been perfect, but Cliff Eidelman does some sterling work anyway.
