Review of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) by David M — 24 Nov 2013
The final Star Trek film to feature the original cast, 'The Undiscovered Country' of the title is actually a quote from Shakespeare, and refers to the future.
In this one, Kirk and McCoy are framed for the assassination of a Klingon ambassador who is on his way to Earth to sign a treaty that might end the hostilities between the Klingons and the Federation, leaving it up to Spock to prove their innocence. It also has a couple of nice nods to The Next Generation crew - particularly the inclusion of one Klingon in particular - and, as it was made in the early 90s, the effects are finally beginning to lose some of their ropiness.
