In 1989, Star Trek V ads asked, "Why are they putting seatbelts in theaters this summer?".
The answer: To keep you in your seat while they rape you in the eyeballs.
The first Star Trek movie was bad in the "this is our first feature, we don't really know what the heck we're doing" kind of way.
Star Trek V was bad in the "we know what we're doing but our story is complete balls.".
You know how movies have deleted scenes? Watching Star Trek V is like watching one massive deleted scene. It should never have been made and more importantly, it should never be seen. Run away. Far away. If you could feel its presence, leave this place.
But hey, the music was good right?
