Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Andy D — 25 Aug 2009

Unquestionably the weakest of the 6 original series films. Having said that, I still somewhat enjoyed parts of this.

I liked the stretch when they are on the planet and walking before they meet "God.".

The action bits and space bits are lacking in both suspense and quality. The effects are clearly pretty bad.

Shatner also seems to not get much flow to the movie.

But like I said, it is still mildly enoyable and not a complete disaster as some might claim.

Certainly though, I'd probably never watch this entry again and it is nowhere near the greatness of Wrath of Khan, or the excellent Undiscovered Country, or the immensely entertaining the Voyage Home.
