Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Lee G — 20 Feb 2012
Now this is often the most maligned of the ST films. While I will admit it has many flaws it's not quite as fatally flawed as many make it out to be. The biggest problem with this film has to do it can't quite seem to figure out what it wants to be and it doesn't have a specific theme.
While I applaud it for trying to be more challenging than the last outing. One can wonder what this film could have been. Next the f/x in this movie are not up to snuff blame it to the budget. But the best scenes in the film happen early on with Kirk, Spock and McCoy their chemistry is great also it's worth mentioning Jerry Goldsmith's score is a plus.
