Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Benjamin B — 10 Nov 2013
Largely forgettable fifth installment on the original run of Star Trek films, with a plot that vaguely feels like something Douglas Adams would (and did) write: in 'So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish'.
Following a hostage situation on 'The Planet of Galactic Peace', the Enterprise and her crew are hijacked by a renegade Vulcan - who proves, of course, to be Spock's brother - and go in search of a mystical planet. In a stunning break with the norm (really?), they actually find it ...
Dated effects, even for the time, and a major let-down from the superior 'The Voyage Home'.
