Review of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) by Colin B — 21 Mar 2010
It's terrible - bad acting, rubbish story and awful effects. Problem is Star Trek V is a massive guilty pleasure for me and I love the film - the great camaraderie between the crew and all the cheese is what actually appeals to me.
Plus with Shatner directing we get the ultimate egomaniac in Captain Kirk - a man so in love with himself that he feels he can interrupt God Himself with a pointed "excuse me" - LOVE IT! I can't recommend it as the best Trek film but I personally have a big soft spot for it.
