Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Jason G — 03 Jan 2010
For some reason (and for the life of me i'll never understand why) people don't like this movie. Robert wise not only captures the essence of Trek, but enhances the whole feel of the show with effects light years ahead of there time.
Granted there is very little "Action" but the original series thrived on the slow burning intelligent stories. All of the cast are on top form, with exception of Stephen Collin's "Will Decker", who is just plain annoying.
Visually stunning and with a completely unique story, Star Trek: The motion picture, was a superb start and a outstanding contribution to not just the Trek universe, but the Sci Fi genre.
