Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Todd L — 13 Jan 2010
I just don't understand why this movie has been so under-rated. I loved it when I first saw it and still love it today. It really defined Star Trek as it should be... much like The Next Generation was.
.. a nerds paradise. I think this movie is a lot deeper then most viewers can go... a machine race... pure logic... etc... If you don't get this movie, you don't get Star Trek. I'm sorry to be strict in this, but Star Trek is about being hard core Science fiction based on current solid science of what the future may be.
This movie hits it pretty good. Issac Asimov is another good example.
