Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Tori D — 01 Nov 2009
The first Star Trek film is nice to look at, with its long stretches of special effects combined with Jerry Goldsmith's grand music. It still has flaws; it's long length drags on and its cold/ devoid of human feeling.
While its a hard film to appreciate, Star Trek is a good old fashion sci-fi film that is well-crafted and contemplative, invoking genuine sense of fear, mystery, and majestic awe.
