Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Darren F — 22 Jan 2010
It has its moments but its hideously slow in pace, half the running time is charachters staring at the set pieces. The movie is at times still quite a hypnoicitic took look at but with long strectches of uneventfulness it tends wear on the attention.
Might be the most visually compelling star trek film of the series but the movies plot while intriguing is thin, (with little happening until the latter half of the film, and very little in means twists and turns, and pretty much nothing in terms of any real action.
) Still its charachters are always watchable, and make the most plodding films of the series worth trudging through.
