Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Mike E — 14 Apr 2010
A good sci-fi epic that suffers from some bad movie-making. The acting is SO classic Shatner, the story is intriguing with a gem of an ending twist. However, to get to the payoff you must traverse through seemingly endless slow-motion space flights, ridiculously extended sweeps of alien spaceships while the camera cycles through the entire cast over and over again to get their facial expressions.
Worth seeing, but you might need something else to do while it's on.
