Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Ryan V — 12 Nov 2016
Star Trek is often praised for its cerebral humanism. It's also criticized for being preachy and dull. The first film lands firmly in the latter category with a glacial plot and so many slo-mo pans across the Enterprise that it becomes more than masturbatory.
For completists only.
