Review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) by Shane J — 21 May 2009
Well the film that spawned 10 sequals and u will ask yourself simply HOW???? This is nothing more then an extended episode of a tv episode. with snazzier special effects thrown in. Well there not to bad for 1979 standards anyway.
You can tell its an extended episode when theers actually minutes of overlong slow mo's with characters just blankly looking at the camera. There's even a 5 minute scene of flying around the enterprise with kirk and scotty looking bored in a shuttle. Im not suire why in every space scene there seems to be random people just flying about?? In the enterprise scene im sure theres some guy just falling to his death while kirk and scotty just stand watching.
Story wise is turns out actually quite good with the whole v-ger stuff but just wasn't able to stretch out to 2 hours worth. A space adventure with no adventure, no space battles. a major dissapointment.
